Nature’s Solitude

A question I am most often asked is “why did you decide to become a photographer?”  This is a not an easy question to answer on-the-fly.  My standard cookie-cutter reply is usually just a dull ‘I’ve always been into photography and just decided to go for it”.  While this answer is usually satisfactory for those asking, it has never truly satisfied me.  The truth of the matter is, the earth is a beautiful, mysterious, fascinating and wondrous place.  What better way to capture and preserve what I see?  “The role of a photographer is not to show you what we can all see, but what we are unable to see.”  The earth is probably the only planet we will ever live on, yet we take its beauty for granted.  Most of us are unable to truly “see” its wonder until we are shown images.  That is why I chose to become a photographer.
